A message from the Swan Head of School

Renee Flourentzou - Head of School Swan Campus

A very warm welcome to all of our new pupils and staff at West Lea School! Swan Campus has expanded this year to include a
variety of outreach programmes with ‘Independence and Learning for Life’ at the heart of the curriculum. These programmes run from different sites until we all move in to our SWAN campus home next year. All of our Swan Campus learners are on a pathway that is personalised and supports them to gain the skills needed to be happy and healthy adults who are able to be successful in the workplace and be part of their local community. We offer travel training and meaningful work experience across all of our provisions in order to prepare students for the world of work or when they leave West Lea. 90% of students on last year’s Supported Internship Programme gained paid employment. It is vital to build on last year’s successes and as a result we have grown the team. I’m excited to see what we can all achieve together. We continue to learn and strive for perfection in all that we do from employer engagement,
parental support, careers advice and pastoral care whilst putting the individual students at the centre of everything. I am really looking
forward to what the future brings and watching all of our students flourish over the coming academic year.
